Built an intelligent iOS and Apple Watch app that helps golfers—especially beginners—accurately track their club distances through practice sessions at the range. The app learns each golfer's true distances by analyzing shot quality and normalizing for ball type.
What We Solved
Challenge
New golfers struggle to know their actual club distances, often relying on manufacturer specs or unreliable range data. Range balls fly 5-12% shorter than premium balls, and inconsistent contact makes it hard to determine what distance to trust. This uncertainty leads to poor club selection on the course.
Solution
We created a beautiful, easy-to-use tracking app that golfers can use during range sessions. The app intelligently accounts for range ball performance loss using research-backed normalization factors, tracks shot quality patterns over time, and uses statistical analysis to recommend confident carry distances. Real-time charts, session analytics, and trend tracking help users understand their game and make better decisions on the course.
